Recycle Your Christmas Tree For A Donation to Easter Seals

Chip In For The Kids is Happening January 7 and 8, 2023

The Easter Seals Christmas tree recycling fundraiser is taking place for its 33rd year in locations throughout Victoria, Duncan, Mill Bay and Shawnigan Lake on January 7 and 8, 2023.

For a donation to Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan – a fully accessible overnight summer camp program for children and adults with disabilities – Easter Seals will dispose of your live Christmas tree in an environmentally-friendly manner. It’s a great way to end the holiday season of giving, knowing your donation will help send children and adults with disabilities to summer camp.

From 10am to 4pm, people can drop off their trees with a cash donation at one of the following locations:

Victoria

  • Tillicum Shopping Centre
  • Save-On-Foods – Fort & Foul Bay
  • Westshore Town Centre
  • Broadmead Village Shopping Centre

Shawnigan Lake

  • Mason’s Store & Patio Ltd. (January 7th only)

Mill Bay

  • Thrifty Foods

Duncan

  • BC Forest Discovery Centre

Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan has been a summer camp tradition on Vancouver Island for over 40 years. It offers one of the best nature-based, fully accessible, overnight summer camps for children, youth and adults to age 49 with disabilities like autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy.

Davey Tree Services, Competition Tree Services and volunteers from Lions Clubs will be onsite to assist with the fundraiser, and all COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed. Since it began in 1993, the event has raised over $440,000 helping give persons with disabilities the experience of an all-inclusive camp.
