Message from our VP

I would like to start by wishing all of you a very Happy New Year. And I would like to personally say thank you for your generous support in 2023.

The past year was one of our most successful years in terms of running programs and services, and it was because of you. Our camps were at capacity this summer, as was Easter Seals House, and we launched some great new programs. Literally hundreds of families benefitted because of your support.

In 2023, you allowed us to expand our programming to help young adults living with disabilities transition into the workforce. CompassWorks is a 22-week program that teaches young adults job skills in the hospitality industry. This year, we ran two modules and graduated eight individuals. Through a job-placement partnership with Fairmont Hotels, our graduates will move into the hospitality sector, which will lead to further independence in their lives. All because of your support.

Looking ahead to 2024, one of our goals is to grow our footprint in the community, raising more funds and awareness so we can continue to grow programming. We’re adding two new golf tournaments in Vancouver and Victoria, and we’re looking to grow our annual Drop Zone campaign this September. We’ll be in four markets across BC and if you don’t know about this event, you should explore… it might fit into your resolutions for 2024.

A big resolution this year is improving meaningful dialogue with you so we can keep you better informed on the IMPACT you’re having on the lives of individuals living with disabilities. We’re launching a couple of new initiatives that we hope will speak to you, as well as provide you with an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. Stay tuned.

In 2023, we were successful in advancing our mission for many reasons, but the single biggest reason was your support. Thank you for putting your trust in us and for enriching the lives of people with disabilities. Without you, we can’t do this work. With you, we can do even more.
