Times Colonist Victoria Open supports Easter Seals BC/Yukon

We are excited to announce that once again Easter Seals BC/Yukon is going to be the Charitable Partner at this year’s Times Colonist Victoria Open, PGA Tour America’s golf tournament. The prestigious tournament is one of Victoria’s biggest sporting events and it features some of golf’s best players.

“We are so excited to be a partner in this tournament again,” says Easter Seals CEO, Lisa Beck. “It is more than just a sporting event—it is about supporting the community. And in this case, supporting the disability community on Vancouver Island.”

This is our second year as the Charitable partner with the tournament. Last year we raised over $100,000 at the tournament, all of which stayed locally to help kids who attend our Camp at Lake Shawnigan. This year our goal is to match and hopefully exceed that total so we can continue to support the children and families who rely on our services.

“Camp is more than just sing-alongs and campfires for these children,” says Beck. “Spending just one week at Camp helps build confidence and self-esteem in these children. Not to mention the friendships that are built and the sense of inclusion that they feel when being able to participate in activities that other children experience.”

The official players tournament runs for four days, starting Thursday Sept 17th through to Sunday Sept 21st. However, we are running our very own Pro Am Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept 15th which is open to our donors and the public. You will get to play with a Pro, enjoy a great meal, and golf on one of the nicest courses in the country. We still have foursomes available. Visit the event page to purchase yours today.

If you’re not a golfer, but would like to take in the festivities and join us for four days of fun, food, prizes, as well as some great golf, you can purchase your tickets here

By supporting the tournament, you are supporting your community and especially children and adults with disabilities as well as their families, all who rely on Easter Seals BC/Yukon programs.
