CENTURY 21 Canada Sends Kids to Camp

July 26, 2017

On July 5th Easter Seals Camp Squamish and Camp Winfield got a few VIPs visiting for the morning.  More than 15 visitors from CENTURY 21 Canada (some in camp dress up) toured the grounds and enjoyed a traditional camp barbeque.

Since 1979, CENTURY 21 Canada’s over 9,000 System members have raised more than $10 million in support of local Easter Seals, giving thousands of Canadian kids fully-accessible summer camp experiences.

When asked about the partnership, Nirm Blatchford (VP of Philanthropy) said, “What I love about having a corporation like Century 21 Canada involved with Easter Seals BCY is that they aren’t just about writing a cheque – they support our fundraisers, they host their own fundraisers and they give money out of their own pockets. But it’s days like today, where they take time out of their busy lives to come spend the day with kids, that truly shows me their commitment to their communities. They are seeing firsthand how their funds are being used and they get to see the smiles on the faces of the kids who directly benefit from their donations.”

“The visit allowed me to see the stories – how camp is such an important part of the campers’ lives,” says Mike Blackall, Owner at CENTURY 21 Prudential Estates (RMD) Ltd. in Richmond, who toured Camp Squamish.

Nathan Sulz from CENTURY 21 Executives Realty Ltd. in Vernon visited Camp Winfield along with his two children. “It was important for me to share with my kids the importance of helping others. I’m so grateful to be able to help to such an amazing cause.”

You don’t have to be a nationwide corporation to get involved with Easter Seals BCY.  There are so many opportunities for companies of any size to make a meaningful contribution and we welcome your ideas.  If you want to get your company involved, please don’t hesitate to contact the Philanthropy team at info@eastersealsbcy.ca and we’ll help you find the right fit.  Who knows, maybe you’ll be at our VIP tour next summer!
